Description
Here is a Marklin G800 HO Scale 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive and Tender #44066. This locomotive features die cast construction, motor, reverse unit, operating headlamps, metal wheels and axles. The tender features die cast construction, die cast trucks, relex coupler, metal wheels and axles.
Introduced in the late 19th century, the 2-10-0 was first unveiled in North America for the Lehigh Valley Railroad on the East Coast. The 2-10-0 notation would catch on quickly, and would soon before commissioned in rail-yards all over the world for their versatility, and powered axels making them a powerful locomotive despite drawbacks with the firebox and running at low speeds. These models would run well into the mid-20th century before eventually making their way from a running status to a preservation state. Today a handful of these Decapods can be found in museums!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There is corrosion residue on the tenders coal load. There are scuffs, spots of paint loss and dirt residue throughout this model. The wheels show wear from previous use. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included.
